We recently had the opportunity to photograph engagement portraits for one of our good friends and his new fiancé (congratulations, Adam!) We headed to Shelburne, hoping to get some beautiful photos regardless of the complete lack of snow and frigid temperatures. The sun was out and graced us with some beautiful winter light, plus we in the company of a a fantastic couple who’re totally in love. . . Doesn’t get much better than that! View the full post here!

Please read below for a little snapshot about Elum the manufacturer of our UMI line of invitations:
“Umi is our solution for creating affordable letterpress wedding invitations that do not compromise on great design or quality materials. Umi uses 100% cotton print-making paper and bamboo paper in standard and double-thick weights, as well as other eco-friendly paper options. And just like Elum, Umi prints all letterpress items using soy-based inks. How can we offer cheaper pricing? Umi offers package-priced ensembles that allow you to purchase a predetermined combination of items that maximize the space and time on press. So, the more items you buy, the better deal you’re going to get!
But if you are simply not budging your budget for letterpress, Umi can still work for you because Umi offers a flat printing option on the exact same designs at a fraction of the price! And what’s even more fabulous is that it is flat printed on the very same 100% cotton print-making paper used for letterpress. These highly affordable flat printed packages are the perfect solution for those who love amazing invitation design, but simply cannot afford to pay for the letterpress process.
Umi has also teamed up with Envelopments, Inc. to offer a wonderful selection of envelopes, liners and enclosures that can all be incorporated to create a truly custom package. And what’s even more impressive is that Umi offers custom letterpress printing directly onto the Envelopments® enclosures!
But, we still think the most exciting thing about Umi is that you get the trendsetting (and eh-hem, award winning) design and high quality fabrication by Elum. How divine.”

Last weekend we had the pleasure of joining Mariel and Marco on an engagement session in Burlington. We had so much fun wandering around downtown, and then made our way to Oakledge Park on Lake Champlain for some final shots at golden hour. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple (or a more beautiful day!) View the full post here!

Kathleen Landwehrle Photography proudly presents CV and Alex’s private, Vermont wedding. CV and Alex were married at a friend’s private home in Stowe, Vermont. Through the early summer rains the couple smiled and enjoyed their pond side wedding. Traditional elegant hats were plentiful as an honor to Alex’s British family. The ceremony was made even more special led by a priest from the Church Alex attended through childhood. The rain continued on and off into the evening leaving the guests dancing barefoot to a live band at the reception. With great skies and beautiful details, the rain helped make some pretty portraits. One on the theme’s for the wedding CV explained during his wonderful toast quoting his Grandfather about good times in life and the memories he had while sailing with his Grandfather and while under sail hearing his Grandfather shout out “How sweet it is”.

Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up on a horse farm in Upstate New York and dreamed of becoming a fashion designer from the age of six. After graduating from Parsons School of Design and New York University, I started my own women’s couture fashion business on 7th Avenue. But every press interview with fashion editors tended to touch on my love of baking… whether I was on the road at a Saks Fifth Avenue, at a Neiman Marcus trunk show or on the runway as Designer of the Year at the Dallas Mart. Often my recipes were published in the articles about my high-fashion clothes!
How did you initially get involved with weddings?
Wedding cakes became a natural extension of my couture baking business. Prospective brides tasted my desserts in local restaurants and tracked me down. The wedding part of my business became word of mouth, Vermont Vows magazine published a photo of my hand-sculpted peonies and the rest is history.
What inspires you about working in Vermont?
Vermont’s natural beauty and wholesomeness inspire me daily to use only the freshest and highest quality ingredients in my confections. (I have been known to personally introduce brides to my free-range pet chickens who often provide the uber-healthy eggs for their cakes!)
What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
My absolute favorite part of the wedding day is hearing about (or in some cases, seeing) the reaction of the bride and groom as they view and taste their special cake created just for them!
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
Family and friends often urged me to start a baking business. Five years ago Jason Pacioni, owner of Black Diamond Catering, literally grabbed me by the hand and, with some of my desserts in tow, made me bring my creations to local restaurants. Vermont Sweet Tooth was born and my wedding cake business blossomed a year later.
What are you passionate about? What motivates you?
I LOVE to design, create and bake specialty desserts of all kinds. I waltz to work everyday…right into my Vermont kitchen overlooking Mt Mansfield and DaVinci, my swan, swimming on the ponds at our Birdsong Farm. I love to meet with brides (and grooms) to hear the stories of how they met their partner, what their passions are, what their life together looks like. The stories and fun anecdotes I hear inspire me to create the wedding cakes of their dreams. As an artist, I am passionate about creating the most beautiful and exciting cake possible. AND most importantly, it has to taste just as great as it looks! The wedding cake is the last presentation of the couple’s special day and I want it to be a spectacular and lasting memory for the bride, the groom and their guests.
What sets you apart from other professionals in your industry? What makes your work unique?
I think it is my background in fashion and art…clothes should be spectacular both on the hanger and on the owner just like wedding cakes should be dazzling to look at and exceptionally good to eat. I also love a challenge. The more unique or unusual the cake request, the better. I can spend days hand-sculpting sugar paste into delicate real-life looking flowers or personality-plus pets or even sports memorabilia to adorn my Vermont Sweet Tooth cakes. Whatever the special interests of the bride and groom I am eager to create a unique, elegant and/or whimsical cake.
I am so grateful to all the brides who have given me the opportunity to create my one-of-a-kind artistic and super-moist cakes.

Kathleen Landwehrle Photography proudly presents Adam and Alex’s Stone Hill Inn, Stowe, Vermont elopement. Adam and Alex had an intimate elopement at the Stone Hill Inn, Stowe, Vermont this fall. After the ceremony we spent some time around Stowe and even fit in their wedding moments.
From Alex and Adam:
We decided to elope in Stowe one night when we realized that having the day to ourselves to remember and cherish was the obvious and best thing for us to do. We chose Stowe because we wanted to stay in New England to get married in the fall (seemed like it would be romantic and cozy). Stowe and specifically the Stone Hill Inn popped up when I searched best places to elope in New England. We had only been to Vermont once before and never to Stowe, but we had a really good feeling about it.
